The Morning Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter

Yes, I was late! By the time I crawled out of bed, the sky was already too bright to capture M44 – the Beehive cluster. Not even the Galilean moons of Jupiter could be seen. Additionally, some thin cirrus clouds floated in the sky – evident from the aureole around Venus.


A wider view. That was really a close encounter!


Here you can see how Venus is smaller, but brighter than Jupiter.
